Fancast | Mortal Enchantment Series by Stacey O'Neale

It was so much fun making this that I hope you like it.
Here is who I think would play the characters of one of my favorite series the Mortal Enchantment series by Stacey O'Neale.

First here's the original aesthetic photo I posted up on tumblr a long time ago.

"I wonder if I can get pizza in Avalon." - Stacey O'Neale, Mortal Enchantment
An awesome quote.

Here is my cast for the book series Mortal Enchantment:

For Kalin Mathews - Crystal Reed

Even though I didn't like most of the things her character in Teen Wolf did I do think shes a kick ass lady so I thought shed make a really awesome Kalin.

For Rowan - Cole Sprouse

I don't know why but I was searching for handsome young actors in pinterest and none of them called out to me and I was having a hard time thinking of who could play Rowan that want Dylan O'Brien. So when I saw that photo of Cole I thought he'd make a good Rowan.

For Marcus - Avan Jogia

I couldn't think of anyone else but him to play Marcus. He'd be perfect, I have nothing else to say. Let's move to the next one.

For Ariel - Elle Dakota Fanning

So I had said that I would prefer not to repeat actors from the other casts I've created but here she is again. Elle would be perfect for Ariel. She's exactly who I thought of when I was reading the books. And since in the Landline cast it was her when she was a kid it isn't cheating.

If you agree with me or have other choices then let's discuss.

Things mentioned in this post are:

Fragile Reign by Stacey O'Neale | Book Review

Fragile Reign by Stacey O'Neale

It had been a long time since I read the second book in the series Mortal Enchantments and I did have the third book but I just couldn't get myself to read it. I had found out that it happens a lot. I have a really good book in my TBR but I just pick other books to read instead and months or years go by before I pick it up and read it. But I was so glad I did pick Fragile Reign and finished it in a week and a half.

It’s been a week since all hell broke loose… Rumors of King Taron’s weakened powers have left the air court vulnerable. Kalin is desperate to awaken her akasha powers, except she doesn’t know how. Tension within the court is at an all-time high. Pressure is mounting for her to ascend to the throne, but a halfling has never ruled over any court. To solidify her position, the council has advised her to marry Sebastian—a high ranking air elemental she’s never met and her betrothed. Will Kalin sacrifice her relationship with Rowan to strengthen her court? Rowan and Marcus return to a fire court in turmoil. Liana’s death has fueled the fire elementals’ distrust against the air and woodland courts. The unbalanced elements have set off natural disasters all over the mortal world. Rowan takes the throne to restore balance, promising to unite the fire court. But not all elementals are happy with his leadership. Many are secretly loyal to Valac, which means Rowan needs to find allies for his cause. Can Rowan unify the court of fire before the elements destroy the world?

My Review:
First, I  completely recommend this series to anyone who likes fantasy and young adult novels, period.
For me, the whole Mortal Enchantment series was so good read them really fast without realizing it and I was never disappointed. In fact, I have given them all 5 out of 5 stars except the second one which I gave 4 but I don't really know why because it was really good. I actually think I gave it 4 because I had a headache when I finished reading it but it wasn't the book's fault.

Fragile Reign being the third book in the series and since so many good things had happened in the book I found that I had read 100 and more pages in my first sitting. I just picked it up and time flew by so fast and I wasn't stressed out or anything. I really liked that but then a member of my family came to visit and I had to stop reading it. But as soon as they left I picked it back up and finished it in a couple of days.

There's something about Stacey's writing that I just adore. It's the way she describes the castles and the elementals (characters) and the clothing that's so amazingly good. I ‘d say as I always say, that the writing is good for the imagination. Because as you read it takes you to those places and I don't often feel that way with other books. but with this series, I felt like I was there.
I simply adore Kalin and Rowan’s relationship in this book. They were so cute. But there was a part that I  hated and that was the part where Sebastian threatened Kalin into not telling anyone of his backstabbing and how Rowan reacted. He completely thought that after all, they want through that Kain was just going to drop him and go for that asshole. Granted he did not know what was going on but he should have gotten a bad feeling from her reaction and the way Bash was treating her.

I also adore Ariel because she is so talented with Kalin’s clothing and makeup and hair but I  do wish she had more time to show how diverse she would be like maybe in the last book she can fight with swords or something. I  just want her to be a badass and not just a side character created to make the man character look good.
And I  hope she and Marcus could end up together. I'm really rooting for them.
I  was so sad that King Taron had to die because of stupid poopy pants Sebastian and just when he and Kalin’s mom were getting close. I  was in tears. And so angry at the same time. Stupid Bash.
Also how stupid was Kalin for blindly accepting wine from someone she doesn't know or trust and for drinking mystery wine that someone just happened to leave in her room after she was threatened by Bash. Dumb move Kalin.
There's also the fact that she cut her wrists just to get the poison out of her system. A choice that was both badass and stupid, but it had to be done. I  guess.
Also! That Rowan was covering her up after King Orion was healing her. And! that short green dress and Rowan’s reaction by singing Pour Some Sugar On Me. That was the cutest most awesome moment in this entire book. Especially because it was after she almost dies and after her dad died and her mom almost died. Gold!

*Clears throat*
As for the ending, I  would really like to say that it was perfect. I  was literally flipping the page to see if there was more. How could she just leave us hanging like that? I  mean does Kalin really have to sacrifice herself for the world not to end in destruction and will she?

Mortal Enchantment by Stacey O'Neale | Review

.
Mortal Enchantment by Stacey O'Neale

It took me a long time to get around to reading this gem but when I did finally start reading it I couldn't stop. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

-------------------------------------

Author: Stacey O'Neale
Title: Mortal Enchantment
Publication: May 20th, 2014 by Phoenix Reign Publishing
Format: Paperback, 230 pages
Source: won in a Goodreads giveaway
Genres: Fantasy, Romance, Fiction, Young Adult
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:
In Kalin Matthew's world, elementals control the forces of nature. They are divided into four courts: air, woodland, fire, and water. At sixteen she will leave the life she's built with her mortal mother. Kalin will move to Avalon to rule with her father—the elemental king of the air court. Along the way, she's attacked by a fire court assassin and saved by Rowan, a swoon-worthy elemental with a questionable past.
Worst of all, she learns her father is missing.
To rescue him, Kalin will have to work with a judgmental council and a system of courts too busy accusing each other of deceit to actually be able to help her. But, they aren’t her biggest challenge. With the Midwinter’s Ball only five days away, Kalin must take over her father’s duties, which includes shifting control of the elements—power Kalin has yet to realize.
As Rowan attempts to train her, a war looms between the four courts. If Kalin fails, her father will die and the courts will fall, but the betrayal she’s about to uncover may cost her even more...

Thoughts:

I loved this book.
I had a hard time finding time to read this book but, once I got to it I couldn't stop and just wanted to finish it. I wanted to know what would happen to Kalin and Rowan and if King Taron was okay. I was glad I read this book. It did not fail me.

I loved the scene were Rowan was teaching Kalin how to control her powers by the beach. That was too cute. I loved how I could see it in my head when Ariel did Kalin's makeovers. I loved how Kalin would deny that she was obviously looking at Rowan. I know what that's like.

I think most of all I liked the world. Avalon is such an intricate world filled with different being and places. I wished the book had a map like some other fantasy books have. It would have been nice to see where each kingdom was and stuff.

Kill Kalin, the half-human, half-elemental daughter of the air court king.
Willing to do anything to remove his mother from power, he agrees to sacrifice the halfling. He returns to the mortal world with his best friend, Marcus, determined to kill the princess. But as he devises a plan, he starts to question whether or not he's capable of completing such a heinous task. And what price he will pay if he refuses?

Thoughts:

To speak truthfully -which I always do- I really enjoyed reading The Shadow Prince. Rowan was such a good character and I loved him. I loved how he was a good friend even with the circumstances.I loved how he fell for Kalin. I loved how he knew that even though he had to do a dark thing he still found a way to make it right.

The action was thrilling and the characters were very interesting. They made me want to know more about them. I hope there's more Rowan & Kalin in the next one.
