Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Waiting on Wednesday #18 - Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases.

Even though I own a Siobhan Vivian book (The Last Boy and Girl in the World) I still haven't read one. So I'd totally be looking forward to this adorable book. Plus it has ice cream in the story.

Stay Sweet by
Siobhan Vivian

From the author of The Last Boy and Girl in the World and The List comes a bold and sweet summer read about first love, feminism, and ice cream.

Summer in Sand Lake isn’t complete without a trip to Meade Creamery—the local ice cream stand founded in 1944 by Molly Meade who started making ice cream to cheer up her lovesick girlfriends while all the boys were away at war. Since then, the stand has been owned and managed exclusively by local girls, who inevitably become the best for friends. Seventeen-year-old Amelia and her best friend Cate have worked at the stand every summer for the past three years, and Amelia is “Head Girl” at the stand this summer. When Molly passes away before Amelia even has her first day in charge, Amelia isn’t sure that stand can go on. That is, until Molly’s grandnephew Grady arrives and asks Amelia to stay on to help continue the business…but Grady’s got some changes in mind…

Waiting on Wednesday #5 - The Last Boy and Girl in the World by Siobhan Vivian

Updated: July 4, 2017

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases.

Here is another Waiting on Wednesday for the book The Last Boy and Girl in the World by Siobhan Vivian.

I found a bit of an excerpt on the author's website and read a tiny bit and from that, I could tell that I would love this book the only downside is that its more than 400 pages. And for some reason, my brain can't take all of that, especially because I want to read all of it as fast as possible because it gives me anxiety. So that's bad but that's my problem the book still looks and sounds very cool.

That new cover is so cool that I think I love it more than the first one.

The Last Boy and Girl in the World by Siobhan Vivian

What if your town was sliding underwater and everyone was ordered to pack up and leave? How would you and your friends spend your last days together?

While the adult's plan for the future, box up their possessions and find new places to live, Keeley Hewitt and her friends decide to go out with a bang. There are parties in abandoned houses. Canoe races down Main Street. The goal is to make the most of every minute they still have together.

And for Keeley, that means taking one last shot at the boy she’s loved forever.

There’s a weird sort of bravery that comes from knowing there’s nothing left to lose. You might do things you normally wouldn’t. Or say things you shouldn’t. The reward almost always outweighs the risk.

Almost.

It’s the end of Aberdeen, but the beginning of Keeley’s first love story. It just might not turn out the way she thought. Because it’s not always clear what’s worth fighting for and what you should let become a memory.
